YEAR SIX
Hello and welcome to the Year 6 page. Here you’ll find key information about your child’s class and what to expect during this important and exciting year.
Year 6 marks the final chapter of your child’s primary school journey—a year full of growth, achievement, and preparation for the next big step into secondary school. In our classroom, we aim to create a focused, encouraging, and positive environment where every child feels supported to reach their full potential.
Throughout the year, children will take on new responsibilities, face new challenges, and develop the confidence and resilience they need for the future. Alongside a broad and engaging curriculum, we place a strong emphasis on key skills in reading, writing, and maths, as well as personal development and leadership.
We are proud of the independence and maturity that our Year 6 pupils develop, and we are here to support them every step of the way. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s progress, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—our door is always open.
Warm regards,
Mr G

TRANSITION FOR SEPTEMBER 2025
To help aid transition, we have created a short presentation to help introduce you to your new teacher and a word document to help you learn more about your new class. We hope this helps.
HOME LEARNING
While we don't set weekly homework tasks for your child to complete we do see the benefits of regular reading, spelling and maths fluency practice. Below are links to two maths programmes that will improve your child's maths fluency and automaticity (Numbots - EY/KS1 and TTRockstars KS1/2). Alongside these programmes we advise that children read either their decodable book or love of reading book daily and also practice their spellings from the list below.
