FOUNDATION STAGE ONE
Hello and welcome to the FS1 page. Here you’ll find useful information about your child’s class and their first steps into school life.
In Foundation Stage One, we provide a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment where your child can grow in confidence, make new friends, and begin their learning journey through play. This is a special time when children start to explore the world around them, develop their independence, and discover a love for learning.
Our days are full of fun, laughter, and meaningful experiences that support early communication, physical development, creativity, and social skills. Through carefully planned activities and lots of child-led play, we help every child feel happy, safe, and ready to learn.
We value strong partnerships with parents and carers and believe that working together is key to your child’s success. If you ever have any questions or would like to chat about how your child is getting on, please don’t hesitate to speak to us—our door is always open.
Warm regards,
Miss Cocking

HOME LEARNING
While we don't set weekly homework tasks for your child to complete we do see the benefits of regular reading, spelling and maths fluency practice. Below is a link to a maths programme that will improve your child's maths fluency and automaticity (Numbots - suitable for children in EY/KS1). Alongside these programmes we advise that children practice writing their name and enjoy books being read aloud to them.
