Hello and welcome to the Year 2 page. Here you’ll find useful information about your child’s class and what to expect during the year.
In Year 2, we focus on building upon the skills your child has already developed, helping them to deepen their understanding and master the curriculum. Our learning will be filled with exciting and engaging opportunities designed to challenge and inspire every child.
Throughout the year, children will continue to grow both academically and personally, developing their enthusiasm for learning across all subjects. We also support their growth as confident, independent Worrygoose Learners—ready to take on new challenges with resilience and curiosity.

TRANSITION FOR SEPTEMBER 2025
To help aid transition, we have created a short presentation to help introduce you to your new teacher and a word document to help you learn more about your new class. We hope this helps.

HOME LEARNING
While we don't set weekly homework tasks for your child to complete we do see the benefits of regular reading, spelling and maths fluency practice. Below are links to two maths programmes that will improve your child's maths fluency and automaticity (Numbots - EY/KS1 and TTRockstars KS1/2). Alongside these programmes we advise that children read either their decodable book or love of reading book daily and also practice their spellings from the list below.
